    Indo-Persia; end 18th c.;

    In a large number of carpets the Persian and Hindu influences are so intermixed that it is not always possible to decide whether they were made for the Indian market in Persia or made in India by Persian carpet-makers. They are known as Indo-Persian carpets. They are most often decorated with slightly slylized flower patterning.
