Louis XIV, King of France, who married María Theresa of Austria had six children of which their only son Louis of France bore the title le Grand Dauphin and married Maria Anne of Bavaria. They had three sons: Louis Duke of Burgandy, Philip Duke of Anjou (from 1700 King Philip V of Spain), and Charles Duke of Berry who is pictured here.
