The long necked vase is divided into five separate compartments. It is patterned all over in underglaze cobalt blue with flowing leaves and large chrysanthemums. Among them Buddhist symbols and symbols for luck with ribbons. Vases like this were only made for export, mainly to the Netherlands where they were used for tulips and gained the name of tulip vases.
