A tapestry showing Autumn. The Four Seasons were a favourite subject for tapestry. The Mimara collection tapestry shows a village landscape with a peasant family in the foreground getting wood ready for the winter. Two ducks and a cottage in the background suggest a peasant farmyard. The scene is framed by large trees and little cottage roofs seen in the background suggest a peaceful village scene. The wide border around the central scene bears garlands of luxuriant flowers and exotic fruit and birds.
