There is a large amount of heraldic detail fitting various ceremonial occasions and details from life or from the hunt as was common in Germany from the end of the 16th to the mid-17th c. The picture on this goblet pays little attention to perspective. The shields of the coats of arms, which play an important part in the decoration, are enamelled in lively colours as is the whole central part of the glass.
