Painted in the Manneristic style of the Prague court in the time of Rudolf II. The Virgin is being carried to Heaven among a number of figures facing different ways. Her floating drapery is in lively contrasts of red, green, purple and gold. The painting is divided into two parts, heavenly at the top, earthly at the bottom. The bottom shows the empty grave being strewn with flowers, surrounded by the amazed apostles.
