Christ with St Jerome and St John the Baptist

simple pyramidal composition showing the young Christ in the centre and on either side St John the Baptist and St Jerome, who holds his right hand on his breast as a sign of swearing an oath. Christ is shown in counterpoise as the Man of Sorrows, blood runs from wounds on His hands, legs, head and side. The blood from His left hand flows into a gold cup. His head is crowned with a red halo with an incorporated gold cross. His loin-cloth covers His thighs, and He wears a crown of thorns. In His left hand He holds the cross - symbol of Passion.
