The sculpture and art works of various materials shown in this room belong to the long period of Renaissance and Mannerism in Italy that lasted from the 15th c. to the 2nd half of the 16th. The two early Renaissance medals are examples of the new art form of medals with portraits of famous people and a dedication or motto on the reverse side.
