Oil-Lamp
Coptic; 5th-6th c.
The oil-lamp has a long body and a jutting beak with a round opening for the flame. The body of the vessel has a hole for pouring oil in and a lid with four holes for air. The handle is made of two interwoven vine tendrils which join in the end and "carry" a cross. A vine pattern is also carved around the rim of the opening for oil.
